Daniley loves the new crumb sucker and I love that she loves it. Yesterday she got a wet rag and commenced to cleaning everything. I guess my grandmother is rubbing off on her. Lord knows, we need all the help we can get. ;-)

After the cleaning we got some playtime in. Daniley loves nothing outside more than the hosepipe. She is either squirting herself or trying to drink the water.

Once Daddy left too much pressure in the nozzle and she squired herself good.
Then she peed in her pants because we were trying out panties and potties.
After that we stripped off the pee-clothes, but it didn't slow her down any. She just ran around naked. Privacy: that's what we were really buying when we moved here. Worth every penny!

OMG! Daniley is wearing panties! And peeing in the potty!! Wish us luck!

Daniley has been communicating with me a lot. She'll answer questions and also say what she wants. She says tons of words. Today she picked up her baby wash and said "shampoo." It seems like every week she makes a months' progress. It's amazing how fast she is learning. So with that said, I thought we might give panties a try and see if she'd use the potty if I did better about taking her. I'm not claiming I'm potty training...but if she's willing then I am too. We were out shopping today and I was feeling frisky. I bought some Hello Kitty panties as I thought if Daniley got the feel of them she might be enticed to ditch the diaper. She's used the potty plenty of times before but today I actually have set the alarm and every 45 minutes she's going on there. Additionally I love the way her butt feels without the diaper. Sooo cute! :-)

We had a super fun weekend. The highlight was Family Counts, a company sponsored family fun day. They had free food (think BBQ, corn dogs, funnel cakes, snow cones, all you could possibly drink, popsicles, cotton candy, popcorn, hamburgers, okay, you hungry yet?), carnival games, rides, inflatables, a petting zoo, pony rides, a helicopter, train and car rides, clowns, Elmo, what more could you ask for? Daniley played on all the big kid rides. Her favorite was the swings (who'd have guessed?). She was by far the youngest kid on there. As she swung around she seemed a little confused but you could hear her saying "WEE" as she flew around. She also loved loved LOVED the pony rides! We'll have to get Pawpaw's horses saddled up soon.

I don't have any great pictures from the weekend but we had a great one. Daniley was sweet all weekend long and we didn't have any meltdowns. (Rare these days.) Friday we went to Pump it Up. It's getting less fun as the new is wearing off. Even Daniley seemed a little bored. Perhaps we're done until winter.
Friday afternoon we had lunch with an old friend (my old best friend who I almost never ever get to see!). Our daughters are only weeks apart so they got to play together while we chatted. Jamie and I can go a year without seeing each other and we can just pick up the conversation like we chatted the day before. Neither of us have any incentive to hold anything back, so conversation does get interesting. LOL.
Saturday we met up with another friend for yard sales in her neighborhood (thanks for inviting us Jenn, we had a great time!!). We found this Radio Flyer Retro Rocket riding airplane/rocket thingy and Daniley hasn't left the seat since we cleaned it up and put her on it. :-)
Saturday afternoon we met with more friends for Tatum's first birthday party. (Ok, so actually there might be some pictures I can post; I'll get with Dan.) We had a wonderful time at Tatum's party! The kids always have fun at the Turner household!
Saturday night Daniley had a buddy over while her parents had a night out. They had a great time playing together and Daniley cried when she left Sunday morning.
Sunday afternoon I met up with my sister and we tag teamed my grandparents (home bound) and she watched one while I took the other one out. It was lovely.
The weekend has been busy but we are blessed to have so many wonderful friends and family! We love you all!!

Well we had another great weekend! I'm so glad it's warmed up; Daniley and I play hard, especially on Fridays. This Friday night she was scheduled to see her Honey and G-Paw so I took off Thursday to play with her. (See previous post.) Friday we met Honey and Jenn, Jeff, James Dexter, and new baby Eli at the park where we played, strolled, and swam in the creek. We got lucky because the Easter Bunny showed up. I didn't take Daniley to see him prior because the Easter Bunny just looks scary. His head is too big and I didn't feel like dealing with the crowds. But Daniley did great with him! Saturday we went to a local park for a community Egg Hunt where Daniley had a blast! They had lots of inflatables and toys. We played then we were set to hunt eggs (along with 500 other kids). We did great! Loved it. She was so cute. Saturday night the Easter Bunny came and left Daniley a basket of goodies. Sunday we went to church at Westwood, then went to Shelby to have lunch at Unc's. We had another Egg Hunt at Pawpaw and Debba's. Lots of fun times there too. Then we were off to Honey and G-Paw's to see the Connells. Daniley fed baby Eli and James Dexter alike. She and Dexter played really good together. They were really cute. Then we came home and had just one more egg hunt here, just so we'd get enough to last us til next year. Between all this fun, we baked cupcakes, ate the batter, and ate Reese cups and M&Ms. All junk, all weekend. :-)

OMG! The next time I wake up with the bright idea of laying out of work...would somebody please stop me?

I put Daniley down for a nap around 10am. I turned off all noise so I would hear her when she woke up. About noon, I checked on her by going to the door and listening. Sounded quiet as a mouse. If you crack the door, she wakes up because it squeaks. So no cracking. About 12:30, I checked again. This time, it was too long of a nap so I was going to crack the door. When I went to open it, it was locked. I did NOT lock it. I panicked. I tried to get a coat hanger and open it with no luck. By this time I'm calling Daniley and she isn't responding. I'm thinking, "Should I call 9-1-1, or Dan?" I know she's been up because she locked the door. I called Dan and he told me how to get in. First I couldn't get the door open, but finally I did (after more panicking). Dan asks me is this my April Fools Joke. NO IT'S NOT. I get in the door, and Ms. Mischief is standing over by my nighstand. She comes towards me and she's got something ALL over her. I do mean all over. It's on her face, in her hair, up her arms, on her clothes. Sometimes, it would do nice to be able to smell. I knew we didn't have anything too dangerous in the room so I'm thinking it's lotion or vaseline. I looked around but couldn't find any evidence. So we proceed to cleaning. But first, click on the pictures to see the goop in detail. (Make sure to use your BACK button or the blog will close.)

So we take ANOTHER bath. Wash hair twice more (that's 3 times today). I began to dry it and I realized we are in trouble. It's not coming out....for a while.... Then I tried to locate the Vaseline. I found it under her changing table. I knew that's where it was but why it never dawned on me to move that I have no idea. So when I find it, I also see she's pulled 100 wipes out of her wipes warmer, I guess to clean up...or maybe it was just fun. Then I find Vaseline everywhere. On the wall. On the changing table. On her shoe. On my nightstand. On my Pepper Spray. I know, go on and call CPS. On every door knob. On the outside of her passy. She put perfect petroleum handprints on Uncle Jerry's cookbook which I've been reading at night.

I cleaned up some of it and we just got the heck out of the house to enjoy the nice afternoon. Then we got to Chick-fil-A to get a drink and relax and play. The cashier asks me, "Is all that [wet hair] just from sweat?" OMG! ARE YOU KIDDING ME? Well it does look like she just got out of the shower. I'm sure I have plenty of time to get a picture. It's not gonna just dry up. LOL.
I've found myself cursing a little bit under my breath. Somebody better start praying for me as a parent because it's going to be a long year or two, these coming up.
UPDATE:
Today has been a funny day! Although it wasn't easy, I have thoroughly enjoyed it. We make memories one day at a time. :-) I'm glad I took off today and spent a beautiful day with a beautiful girl! We did make time for shopping and the park too!
Here's the condition of things in my room:

Here's the hair. It's not wet. This was after two washings.

So my revenge was getting the vaseline out. :) Someone told me to try cornstarch. The more I put in the harder I laughed. Here she is dancing about to go in the shower, the THIRD bath today. :-)

I've been laughing all day...believe it or not as I was going through the bedroom finding the vaseline on things I was laughing. But here's something that was a little extra funny: Today I told Dan that Daniley got into the vaseline and got it all over everything. His reply: "You have to watch her." Stupid reply. I guess he didn't take me seriously. I didn't go over everything in there with a fine tooth comb, especially on his side of the bed. So about 6pm tonight, when he got to looking, and realized the vaseline was also on HIS things, it wasn't so funny to him anymore. LOL.
